Just 10minutes from the villa on the out skirts of Gandia, is Carrefour, our biggest supermarket, with the shopping centre of Plaza Major across the road and another shopping centre, La Vital across from there. This centre has Asian, Spanish and Italian pasta restaurants, many shops and a Ten Pin Bowling centre with bar. Lidl is also in this area, along with a McDonald’s and Burger King.

From the station you can get a horse drawn carriage around the city, a taxi will take you to any of the big shopping malls and Ladro factory: All the designer shops in Valencia, a beautiful cathedral, lace market and parks. The new zoo is a must day out, with it’s new dolphin birthing pool, along with the Oceanic Centre.

Oliva - 20minutes From Villa South of Gandia is Oliva old town, which has its’ own castle, centre square, where you’ll find the Friday market with usual market goodies, plus fruit and vegetables. At the indoor market there is an English butcher and there is also a Quick Save in Oliva. A drive down towards the sea takes you to Playa Oliva, again miles of golden beach, cleaned every morning

and backed by protected sand dunes, where you can see the Montgo Natural Park of Javea in the distance. There are bars on the beach with an area for wind surfing, kite surfing and sailing, lessons in these are available. The Oliva Nova Golf is nearby, designed by Seve Ballesteros, with a great club house. Golf can be found at the Marriot Hotel, Denia, a great Hotel for food on that special evening

and the pool there is beautiful. Horse riding and go karting are at Ondara, which is between Oliva and Denia on the main N332. There is also the sats Sunday morning rastro, held in the car park of the Vergal Safari Park, a good mornings out.

Denia This town has a lovely castle, sea food and Paella restaurants over looking the sea, again, all fresh that day. The Marina complex is a place to sit with tapas, wine, coffee and look at the fabulous boats moored and dream of winning the lottery! And why not take the ferry from Gandia or Denia to Ibiza?

Benidorm Easily reached by car, the town is worth a visit, as is the Terra Mitica theme park with its firework display is the nearest we have to Disney World. The Aqua Natura Water Park sits next door and is great for a family day out with its; amazing slides, tunnels, fun day events, games around the very big wave pool beach area, restaurants and changing rooms. Food can be taken in if you prefer. Also, 1st in Spain, a shark pool where you can even swim with the sharks!

Xativa Coming back to the area of Gandia, is the beautiful old town of Xativa, with an even older castle which was once the home of the Lords of Gandia. A beautiful area to explore, so much abounds in this area that it would be too much to print! So why not take a trip there and see for yourself.
